Thursday Training – Speed Session – Fartlek @ Stoneham Close (off Cockney Hill)
Fartlek is defined as “continuous training with interval training.” The word “fartlek” is Swedish for “speed play,” highlighting its focus on a medley of fast and slow bursts of running during the duration of the workout.
Aim of the session is to vary the pace and intensity at each marked point.
Run approx. 270m square loop – you will run downhill @ 5k pace, then jog recover, run uphill @ 5k pace, then jog recover, repeat until end of session.
Ample on street parking either on Stoneham Close or on Cockney Hill.
Despite street lamps, we highly recommend you run with a high-viz and torch.
