Thursday Training – Grafton Road 500m intervals

Speed group – the purpose of the session is to increase speed whilst maintaining control of your pace.
Progressive speed – run the first 200m at your 5k pace then increase the speed for the second 200m by 10 seconds and then increase the speed again for the last 100m by 10 seconds followed by a 2 minute rest.
Repeat until whistle is blown.
Endurance group – the purpose of the session is to maintain your 10k/HM pace throughout each interval.
Pyramids – 500m followed by 1 min rest
1000m followed by 2 mins rest
1500m followed by 3 mins rest
1000m followed by 2 mins rest
500m followed by 1 min rest
Repeat until whistle is blown.
