Thursday Training – Speed – Fartleks @ Courage Park
Fartlek is defined as “continuous training with interval training.” The word “fartlek” is Swedish for “speed play,” highlighting its focus on a medley of fast and slow bursts of running during the duration of the workout. The aim of the session is to allow your body to adapt to different speeds.
Fartlek 400m (change pace every 100m)
1. Jog
2. Run 10 secs slower than your 5k pace
3. Run fast @ 10 – 15 secs secs quicker than your 5k pace
4. Run 10 secs slower than you 5k pace
1. Jog
2. Run 10 secs slower than your 5k pace
3. Run fast @ 10 – 15 secs secs quicker than your 5k pace
4. Run 10 secs slower than you 5k pace
Repeat all 4 steps until coach blows the whistle.
